8 Ways to Well-Being: Exercise
Physical Health at Casa Capri Recovery
Real recovery from drug and alcohol addiction is about so much more than just quitting addictive substances—it’s about finding balance and health in mind, body and spirit. Most women in active addiction neglect this very important element of their health.
Women at Casa Capri Recovery work hard to achieve emotional well-being and incorporating physical exercise into our program routine offers women the chance to re-define their physical health. Engaging in an activity that not only promotes and boosts self- esteem, it also elevates mood and alleviates stress. Women with co-occurring mental health issues benefit greatly from the positive endorphins released during exercise. Exercise has been proven to be one of the most impactful elements in treating conditions like anxiety and depression.
Casa Capri Recovery provides the opportunity to participate in group and individual exercise routines and our clients are offered a variety of different types to choose from.
We encourage our clients to participate three to four times a week in some form of physical activity. Incorporating a routine that gets blood pumping improves strength and flexibility and is extremely beneficial for longevity in sobriety.
