Detox Case Manager

Cindy is a master’s level clinically trained counselor and a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor-Certified Addiction Specialist.  Cindy has over 25 years of clinical experience working in domestic violence and substance abuse treatment.  Cindy has spent the past 13 years specifically working with substance abuse programs designed to address the unique needs of women in recovery, with a focus on addressing shame and trauma.  Her experiences have included providing year-long batterers’ treatment services, domestic violence shelter and outreach services, working with pregnant women and mothers in a year-long IOP, and more recently working with a FOTEP program providing residential substance abuse treatment and employment services for women recently released from prison or in the ACP program.

Cindy is also a Certified Expressive Arts Therapist and has been passionate about bringing expressive arts modalities for treatment to both the domestic violence and substance abuse treatment arenas.  She has been equally passionate about integrating the shame resilience work of Brenee Brown with the expressive arts activities she offers with her clinical services.  The areas of study she is currently pursuing to further her clinical work are interpersonal neurobiology and theories of understanding of consciousness, spirituality and creativity.  Her vision is to continue incorporating all these areas of interest into the services provided for women in their journeys to heal from substance abuse and embrace recovery as their path.
